on 30th may for fall 2007 . the interview is so cool .
my appointment time is 8:30am . I went there 15 mins before, but i went with a bag and cellphone with me. They r not allowing the bags and cellphones into the consulate. me: Hello Sir, my Self anil, H R U Sir? VO: Morning, thanks VO: Give me u r mark sheets me: sure sir. VO: Whos going to sponsor for u r studies me: my parents VO: What they r doing me: my father is into real estates business, he buys and sells the lands, sometimes he makes ventures and sells them as a plots. my mother is house wife. VO: Show me ur bank documents me: sure sir. VO: do u have the professional certifcates me: Yes sir Then the golden words came VO: U will get ur visa with 3 days. me: Thank u sir, u made my day, Once again thanks sir. I am heading to Oklahoma city university. Once again thanks for post all their visa experience.

hi frnds dis is XXXXX got my visa on 30th may.My slot was at 11'o clock and my trun came around 1'o clock..which lasted for less than 2 min...it went lik dis... ME: Gud afternoon sir(passing folder to him) VO: Very gud afternoon VO: why dis university ME:there is an intensive research going in da field of optical fibres and i m interseted to be a part in tat research... VO: who said u abt dis university Me: My seniours and through surfing VO: can u show me ur B.tech markslist and GRE, TOEFL score cards i passed them VO: wat was ur average in B.tech and how many back logs ME: 70.72 and 1 backlog VO: wat abt urs sponsers me said abt my sponserers VO: u will be getting ur passport by 1 week all da best this is wat my visa xperience he havent asked any other document except my UG certificates... so be cool and confident u ill be getting it.....any one over there planning for alabama,mobile be in touch.....

Hope all of you are doing well. I have been an active member in this group for nearly 15 months. I have given many replies to many people and procured so many friends through this beautiful i20fever( a deserving thanks to Naveen Sir). Coming to my case I had my VISA interview on May 30 at morning 7:45 I wen inside at around 7:30 and after completing all the formalities I stood in the actual line at 8:35 or something. My turn came at 9:45. But before that I wanna tell you something what happened between the VO and the guy who was before me. He is an F-1 student planning for SIUE(i think like that but not sure). The VO saw his documents and said that your documents are fake. This guy did not agree with what he said. Both of them argued some what aggressively. At last the VO said your documents will be verified by our chief. If you are found guilty then you will be given a permanent rejection from US. This guy said "you go and check my documents. If you want call the bank also." Then the VO asked the person to wait for some time and he has gone inside and talked with some person. every thing was visible to me. My body shivered like any thing because in my pass book there are very few entries and all my documents are OK. Now he came to me very furiously and called me. I went to him and passed the folder. He aske me only 3 Qs : How many Backlogs? I told Zero in my life time What is your undergraduate aggregate? I said 78 How much does your father earn? 4 lakhs pa Thats all he asked me to leave. I was in a confused state "Is this called a VISA interview?" The thing which I observed is VISA interview is a tool to test your luck. I am not exaggerating the situation but they are issuing VISAS in a very Randomized fashion. People with some what better profiles and applying to good or average universities can be some what cool but not completely. On the day of my VI they are issuing VISAS with great ease. That Nancy was not there on that day at F1s and H1s. She was rejecting the visiting VISAS. If you have a slot after 10:30 better take an umbrella and stand in the queue. At the last minute while just entering into the hall better throw it so that your parents may collect it later. If you stand in that hot sun you get irritated and your expression may not be cool. Be prepared for standing in the queue for not less than 2 hours inside the main VISA lobby. My profile is : 1100 243 78% ECE

hiiiiiiiiii fds, dis is sandhya.my slot was on 31 may 10:30.my interview was very cool.Most imp point to remember is,if the vo asks u why dis univ?dont tell him my fds,seniors,prof recommended me.u tell him abt the courses in which u r interested in etc. me:gd afternoon,hw r u doing sir? vo:fine mam vo:asked my gre score acard me:gave it vo:why dis univ? me:i said 2 prof names.they did research in xxxx.im interested in those sub vo:write those prof names,gave me a paper & pen me:wrote their names vo:told me tht he will check in website me:yaa sure sir & told abt my univ website vo:asked me memos,how many backlogs? me:0 vo:sure? me yes,count them sir In a hurry i even gave my bnk transaction sheet also.but he gave it back to me.I am lucky. vo:k im issuing u visa me:thnk u sir be careful while giving ur memos & all.just be confident.keep faith in urself and GOD.

my interview was at 11:15.... i went inside at 10 am..my turn came at 2.30 so that was the rush. Before my interview one VO came and took a counselling session.he insisted on 3 things 1. NO NEED TO BE CONFIDENT.......I HAVE GIVEN MANY VISAS TO NERVOUS STUDENTS ALSO.....I DONT WANT CONFIDENCE...I WANT GENUNITY.....I SHALL VERIFY ALL DOCUMENTS. 2. BEHAVIOR: JUS GREET UR VISA OFFICERS 3. DONT SAY I WILL COME BACK TO INDIA AFTER MY MS.. WE ARE NT A BUNCH OF FOOLS TO BELIEVE THAT U WUD COME BACK AFTER SPENDING THAT MUCH he said this and went away.... One lady (25-28) yrs interviewed me..... me: good afternoon maam vo: hello sir..can i have gre and toefl me: sure vo: show me ur acads me: ya vo: oh gud first class wid distinction so that means no backlogs..impressive type type vo: ok now why univ of kansas me: told abt courses, labs, prof type type vo: what are ur parents and what is their income me: told typed something vo: so will u come back me: maam to be honest i wud do some optional program training and enchance my skills and wud surely come to india....i wud join as a reseach engineer and work on bluetooth typed for a long time then the golden words for which i was waiting for 1 yr finally came out......those were the best words ever heard till now (except my girlfrnd's ;) ) ok sir ur visa is approved...enjoy univ of kansas friends...... impress her wid acads.....then she will trust u and not touch the financial documents part......but once she asks ur bank statement or pass buk it means that she is nt impressed wid u.....so work more on ur univ.....SUBJECT IS UR WEAPON.....tease her with that...kill time...once u cross ur area then it is her area and she will play wid u......IMPRESS her wid subject....... and pray god that u get a male......females are dangerous (excuse me gals! i meant only VO's)

hi friends, I had my visa interview on 30 may at 8 am at delhi consulate n have got the visa for san jose state university,california. I entered the us embassy at around 7:45 am and was out at 9.My visa interview lasted for just 1-2 minutes.He didnt asked for any of the documents,meither financial nor academic.I havent shown any bank statements or CA statement.He just asked for gre n toefl score reports. The interview went like this. Vo-hi,how r u. me-fine sir. vo-which university n for which course? me-sanjose state university for software engineering. vo-Dont u have this software engineering in india?then why u decided to go to US me-As number of Us based multinational companies are coming to india n number of students are recruited every year.so i think doing MS in US will give me a good international exposure n will help me in building my personality. vo-show me your GRE n toefl score reports. me-given vo-In which branch have u done your B.tech? me-Computer science n engg. vo-How r u going to fund your education? me-told abt savings,lic's,fathers annual income etc. vo-when did u finished ur B.Tech n what were u doing till now? me-I said,i had finished my B.Tech in june 2006 n after that i started preparing for GRE n had written my GRE in jan 07. Then i was busy with the admission process n right now i m doing a course in VB.NET. vo-ok i m issueing u the visa n u will get ur passport by courier. me-thanks. So,thats all.I think your confidence n your way of answering the questions is what matters. So all the best to all those who r going to hv their interviews in coming days.

I got my visa to north west missouri state university on 31st at chennai consulate .My interview is scheduled at 10:30 and i entered into the building at 10:00 first i went to one counter where the guy took my ds-forms,passport,appointment letter,sevis and checked everything and kept them in a folder and gave it to me.Now the next step is interview its long queue outside i had to wait 1hr and after that i went into the visa lobby and had my finger print scanning.They asked me to sit and i have waited for 2hrs and after that i stood in the line and at 2:40 its my time of interview which was very cool it went on like this Me:good afternoon sir Vo:good afternoon give me ur folder Me:sure sir gave it VO:he verified and typed something in the computer and looked at me and continued VO:why that univ Me:I want to take part in the ongoing project that is swing data manager which deals with my area of specialization........ VO:who is sponsoring u ME:my parents VO:what is ur undergrad percentage ME:63% without backlogs sir Vo:how can u support ur education Me:My parents have been earning since 20 years and invested a mojor part of savings in real estates and when they had a good deal out of it they sold out the land and saved it for my education VO:Any siblings Me:yes sir one elder sister and she is married VO:Finally the golden words came ok i am issuing u visa u will get ur passport through courier Me:thank u sir have a nice day

Coming to my VISA interview on 30th may 7.30 am, It was really cool, I was not asked to show not even a single document. I felt it was useless carrying my folder .I guess it was bcoz of the guy before me who had too many backlogs and was rejected for the same reason. I went to 29th may to embassy to get first hand information from the students who had appointment on that day.. There was mixed response, few were accepted and few were rejected. I was little tensed but later got back my confidence since I had done enough preparation. Somehow I tried to sleep on that night and woke up early in the morning of 30th and practiced couple of mock interviews with friends. It was really helpful. Then I started to embassy to attend my important interview. After security checkup at entrance, my Ds forms and i20 and etc were kept in a folder and directed me to main building where interview is being done. I entered the main building there were about 13 counters. First two counters for finger scanning. I went to the first counter and got my finger scanning done. After that we were made to sit for about 10 to 15 min. then a security guy came asked all 7.30 appointments to stand in the line. Initially only 3rd and 4th counters were opened, there was a lady in the 3rd counter (frds she is awesome,but plzzzz do not get smitten by her she is a psycho she is checking each and every document and asking hell lot of questions and more importantly not convinced with the standard answers.)in the 4th counter there was a French beard guy ,who is in his middle 50?s (he is kool ,he is not giving importance to documents ,he is giving importance to only Acads and bodylanguage.) I prayed hard to my lord to get my interview done by this french beard guy.luckily I stood in 4th counter.and this guy is looking directly in to the eyes of students while answering to check their confidence level.at that point of time I was little tensed whether I wud be able to deliver to my best or not, but somehow brought back my confidence. Finally My turn came at around 9; 15.It was really cool much easier than what I anticipated , I was not asked to show not even a single document. Me:Good mrng sir ,how r u That?s it ,he looked at me and typed sth ,and said Excellent gentleman ,u did great and saying sth else,but I dint listen to him just said thanks thanks,have a great day and ran away frome there??? My only suggestion to all u guys is practice mock interviews and know abt ur specialization (one girl was rejected only bcoz of the reason that she cud not explain abt her specialization)

Today(5th june) i had my visa interview in the chennai consulate at 8:30 a.m. I went there at 7:45 itself, at that time itself there was a big queue.. finally managed to get in at 8:15.. i went to the prescreening counter..the lady over there found 2 mistakes in my DS158 forms and i was asked to corrct them by pen and again come in the queue... b'cos of that i lost around 45 mins extra... so after that i stood outside the Visa issuance building for 15 to 20 mins. Since it was 9:30 ..they called all the 8:30 appointments seperately and asked us to come inside. there as usual there was a finger printing procedure.. then i was asked to stand in the 8:30 queue... while I was standing the chief VO came there and gave instructions to everyone...like. 1. we know more abt visa than u people. 2. make sure ur application is filed correctly. 3. Wish the VO before talking to them. 4. Decision on ur Visa is taken in the first 20 secs in most of the times, So be confident and talk after listening. 5. Try to talk so that Vo can understand u. 6. Dont show over-confidence or total indifference. 7. Dont show fake documents and risk ur chances of getting visa to US permanently Though he told these things he delivered them in a lighter sense by cracking jokes and some funny situations that had happened earlier... then somebody came and asked the students waiting for F1 to go to a seperate counter (counter E).. there were 5 of us and i was the last one. The VO approved visa for 2 and rejected 2 before me. my interview went like this... Me: good morning sir!!(Passed the documents) VO: which univ are u going? Me: SJSU, California. VO: wat is the area in which u r going to specialize?? Me:communications and siganl processing. VO:(looked at me) wat does that mean??? Me: (smiled ..actually laughed) wireless communication and Digital signal processing. VO: (smiled) ohh...o.k. VO: pass me ur GRE and mark sheets. Me: (i gave it to him) do u want the consolidated marksheet?? VO: No, I dont want any consolidated marksheets, just the individual marksheets. Me: o.k. here they r sir. VO: (looked at them and nodded his head in approval) how many backlogs do u have? Me: None...zero sir!! VO: wat was ur standings in the class Me: I got an aggregate of 81%. i was in the top 15 in my class of 60. VO: Are u employed anywhere?? Me: yes sir. I am employed in XXXX company for the past 4.5years and I am still working. VO: Who is funding you? Me: My father. VO: Wats he doing?? Me: He is a retired executive engineer in govt of tamilnadu. VO: o.k.(reassembled all the documents...) Study hard..All the best. Me: Thankyou sir. Have a nice day. My advice for everyone is to be confident and show that u r very comfortable in talking to the VO..(dont over do it..) All the best everyone.

My VI was pretty cool and lasted for about 4-5 mins. VO was impressed with my admission at Yale and did not check any other documents...(including mark sheets) Interview went on like this..... Me: Good morning Sir, Myself Rajesh, How are you doing?

ME : Good Morning Sir,how r u doing...? VO : I'm fine. VO : Pass your folder... (Passed the folder) VO : So why are you going to this university?? ME : explained about my choice of univ. VO : Who is going to sponser your education?? ME : Sir my parents. VO : What does your father do?? ME : Sir he is in the defence forces... VO : How much did u get in 10th and 12th...?? ME : 86% in 10th and 83% in 12th... VO : How much did u get in SAT?? (Told my SAT and TOEFL Score) VO : Ok,I'm approving your visa but I have 1 more question... ME : Ok Thank you sir... VO : It seemed as if you had by-hearted ur answers...did u go to any consultancy...??? ME : Sir,my father trained me for the visa interview... VO : But it seems that you had gone to some consultancy and someone helped you??? ME : Sir I wont lie but I prepared very well b4 coming for day interview... VO :(With a smile) Ok Thank You. ME : Thank you sir...have a nice day... My advice would be dat dress well,be patient and be confident n u'll definately get da visa...

STARTED AT 7AM FRM LODGE DID NOT FELL LIKE HAVING ANYTHIN SO HAD A CUP OF MILK AND STARTED WAS THEIR BY 7.30AM STOOD IN THE LINE TOOK ME ABT 20 MIN TO GET INTO THE MAIN BUILDING . HERE GOES MY INTERVIEW ME:GOOD MRNG OFFICER ,HW R U DOIN VO:FINE VO:GIV ME UR PASSPORT THEN ASKED MY FOLDER ME: PASSED ON VO:WENT THROUGH MY I20 THEN ASKED FOR MY MEMOS ME:I GAVE AND ADDED SIR EVEN I GOT 40% SCOLARSHIP ,THEN HE SMILED VO:HW MANY BACK LOGS ME 3 SIR VO:HW R U GOIN TO FUND UR SELF ME:WAS TELLING ABT MY DADS SAVINGS ,BANK STAEMENT ETC THEN VO:GIVE ME UR DADS IT RETURNS ME:GAVE ,THEN HE STATRD FEEDING SMTHING IN HIS COMPUTER VO:WHY THIS UNIVERSITY ME:BCOZ THIS UNIVERSITY IS GUD FOR ELECTRICAL ENGG AND ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TO SPECIALISE IN DIGITAL SIGNAIL PROCESSING VO: AND WHAT IS DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING ME:(WAT DO I KNW) STILL MANAGED AND SAID WE CONVERT ANALOG SYSTEM TO DIGITAL SYSTEMS SIR ,WE USE THEM EVERY WHERE COMPUTERS ,PDAs and etc THAT FELLO PAUSED A MIN AND THEN SAID OHHH OK. V0:ASKED MY BANK STATEMENTS ME:I GAVE THEM AND STARED SAYING MY FAMILY SAVINGS ARE ABT 3 TIMES MORE THAN THAT MY TWO YEARS OF UNIVERSUTY TUTION FEE (I SAID THESE WORDS QUITE STRONGLY AND VERY CONFIDENTLY) VO:OK MAN GUD LUCH WORK HARD ME:TAHNKQ OFFICER HAV A NICE WEEK END.(10.15AM)
