my experience
the big day
it was really a big day indeed, got the papers ready in the morning by some urgent emergency intervention by my dad, was still nervous !!!
i thought my interview was at 11:30, when it was at 11 !!!
so got their 30 min late
took some clips and pin in my pocket which gave a very hard time to the security as i forgot which pocket it was (with the coat i have about 11 pockets )
any way after so many obstacles when i finally reached there ,i was so nervous that my hand got moist and with the finger printing at jeopardy the staff got annoyed and yelled at me
then i was waiting in the que, the people before me came back with the passports in their hand (if ur visa is rejected they giv th passport back )
i was in further shock
Then came the main part the interview, a smart looking american guy

ok usmle, thats nice, may i see ur step 1 scores

-i am working in a psychiatry hospital 2 days a week, i am involved with some research projects, 2 already in print, and i am also prep for my exams
who is sponsoring your tip
-my dad, (gave him the sponsor letter and the salary slip and the income tax return )
he smiled and said , why Houston
-because i did not get any dates in Philadelphia
what do u plan next
-after exam , i will apply for the residency, if selected , will go there and persue my higher studies and then come back to serve (i was going to say ........my country and........but he interrupted with a smile .)

I am Majeed and i have pursued B.Pharmacy (2006). I have been doing job as MEDICAL REPRESENTATIVE IN MUMBAI from january 2007 to till date. My parents are from Andhra Pradesh. I have applied for CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY WISCONSIN for MBA - HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATION. My interview was on MARCH 10- 7.45AM AT MUMBAI
MY Experience is as follows.

VO: started smiling as soon as he has seen my university name and said ooh .. concordia..ok

VO:what r u doing here?
ME:working as MR in blaa blaa ...
VO:who is u r sponser ?
ME:my parents who work in a reputed company of india as ....
VO:y MBA health care?
ME: sir health care is a bussiness and i want to pursue my masters in it for my growth. as my current position is MR i want to see my self as Product Manger for a particular prodcut through out the india and later after working for a reputed company in india after my studies i want to establish my own bussiness.
VO:what abt gre?
ME: no sir i am not having the scores as i was busy with my work , also this university doesnt require GRE or tofel scores , i am having the letter for that.
VO:typed something in the computer for 1min
VO:i am sorry , i cannot process u this type as it is too early for u to go for higher studies
ME: sir that depends on me, i have realized after working 1 year that a masters in BA will make my carreer grow .
VO: u r right but i cannot process u this time plz if u want u can reapply again , gave back my passport and i20.
Friends this is how i got rejected , i dont understand y did he say" it is too early for u to go "
plz help me to know the reson behind that. VO has not even checked my single document at that moment. I am applying again in april , and i have no time to take the GRE tofel exams as my classes are starting from april 23,2008.

hi friends got visa in the first attempt on 3rd march 2008 in chennai
now i cannot give the exact interview but i will give u most of the questions and the way the officer was my interview was in the morning at 7:30 as usual i was there by 7:00 the security check was done and all my docs were verified and put in a folder and was given back to me then i was sent to the next block where exactly the interview was taken i was the fifth in da row and i there was a guy in front of me who was also applying for ms i guess he was not confident while answering the questions so obviously he was rejected now finally it was my turn i have seen the way the vo was questioning the guy in front of me and i analysed wat he was exactly looking for then i came to know tht he was more interested in subject and the reason why we were going there so i started tuning my self for tht so finally i went there and i greeted him saying good morning with a nice smile and he replied the same way but was not smiling now he took all my docs and asked me
vo:why this particular university
me: this university has the course syllabus which exactly suits my area of interest and especially subjects like 3g standards and next generation wireless standards have fascinated me the most i also told him that 3g is the future of communication in India and by the time i finish my masters i will have a good career in india
vo: so how many back logs u have
me: i said i have 23
vo: he asked me y
me:sir i have all my backlogs in my second and third year only in my final year i dont have even a single backlog since i was more into extra curricular activities in my second and third year
vo:u were supposed to complete ur degree in 2006 only right
me:sir i had 2 backlogs which i had to clear later and in mean time i didnt want to be idle so i worked in sitel india limited where i worked as a customer support for tmobile and then i came to know about 3g networks since then i had the passion to do masters in this subject
vo:wat kind of extra curricular
me:i was my college cricket captain and i organized many events i showed him my certificates even before he asked me
vo:how are paying ur first sem fees
me:when i was in my second year of engineering i lost my dad and so we got lumpsum amount as compensation so i m having the same amount in my mothers savings account which i will be using to pay my fees
vo was typing in his system for abt 3-4 mins seeing my i20 i was almost sure i was granted the visa then he gave me my i20 and told me i am supposed to carry this when i would go to us and showed my passport and told me u will get this in a week thats it guys i thanked him twice and left the place
now guys my suggestion is confidence plays a major role and to gain confidence do a lot of home work like going thru more experiences tht u can read from this site which helped me a lot and go thru ur university website and know more abt ur subject and also and try to use geniune documents as much as possible i think then u can rock they will definately issue u the visa

me ; sir we treats cattle , horses , rabbits , sheep gaots , dogs , cats in india mainly ... but field of interest is small animals particularly dogs and cats

so this was my visa experience regarding US visa
i think my raeson of denial was low my BVSc score , without GMAT .. if my score was low must have to write gmat ... second i have not my job experience ... currently m doing govt job and i have must show work experience of my job as VO have asked me have u worked in vet hospital ...
next onth im writing gmat ... and next time i will show work experince as vet doctor to VO ... im again appearing in US interview in april 08 .
